Erik Saastad is a hobby photographer living in Oslo. He rarely leaves his camera at home, but is more inspired in the spring and summertime than in the authumn and winter. He takes several thousand photographs a year, throws away half of them and slowly learns as he goes. Erik is more concerned with composing pictures than playing around in the digital darkroom.
With 3 active kids, portraits and pictures of play and growing up is among the most common motives in addition to scenery and nature. Erik is trying to improve in finding interesting angels and motives in other environments. He finds it fascinating that almost anything can become an interesting shot if you select the correct lightning conditions and perspective.
Mostly he uses his old Canon EOS 300D with a Tamron AF 17-50mm f/2.8 XR Di II LD Aspherical lens, but a Sigma 10-20mm f/4-5.6 EX DC lens, a Canon Ef 50 f/1.8 lense and a Sigma 70-300 f/4-5.6 APO lens is part of the ecuipment..
