Being a relatively new owner of a Nikon, I learn something new every time I'm out with my camera. As all the good photographers say: You never stop learning. So I'm looking forward to a lifetime of learning. I have always been fascinated with pictures. There is something about still media that makes it so much more challenging than live media. I work as a designer and create a lot of advertising. Making a good print ad is much more satisfying than making an ad for the Internet.
Since I have no clue what hell I'm doing, I tend to shoot a lot of pictures hoping for at least one decent shot. I take pictures of whatever is there at the time. But I tend to take a lot of urban and abstract pictures. Inspiration is everywhere.
I have no problems carrying my equipment yet. I have a Nikon D40, 18-55m Nikon, 10-20mm Sigma. As the gadget-geek I am, I'm always eying something new. A Nikon 18-200 VR is high on my list right now. Send more money!
Buying a Nikon doesn't make you a photographer. It makes you a Nikon owner.
